Homestay Day 7-Komagatake Snow trip 駒ケ岳

This is first time in my life to see real snow.

Mt. Komagatake(駒ケ岳), in Nagano ken(長野県), is the main peak of the Central Alps, soars to a height of 2,956 meters above sea level. The view from this midsummer paradise is beyond description. You can enjoy the superb panoramic view of Mt. Fuji, the peaks of the Southern Alps, Mt. Ontake, Mt. Norikura and the peaks of the Northern Alps. And it is famous as a treasure-house of alpine plants.

However, we went during winter, and the snow is 2meter. The initial plan was to go ski/snow board but the weather was not so nice.

We drove up to Komagatake Suganodai parking place to change

After changed into snow wear, do I look like fish market oneesan? The snow wear is from okaasan, we applied a lot of water proof spray

Waiting for bus at Suganodai bus terminal (菅の台)

On the way to the snow mountain, can already see the peak

We get off at Shirabidaira (しらび平) station which is the last station.

The rope way to the peak of the mountain. Reminded me of the ropeway for Langkawi

Yeah! We are here

There was one temple on the top of the mountain. Now the height of the snow is 2meter.The Tori gate will be covered by snow in the middle of Feb, left the top part looked like bench. Then there will signboard says "Do not sit, this is Tori gate"

Dun scare, I wun hit you all

Ice-cream

Tired after snow fight, rest awhile

Yeah..start to work, posing first

Haha..Hidemaru was digging the igloo his own

Yeah!~ Readied, it was warm inside as the wind not coming in

Yeah

Time to leave

On the way back, tired and all very wear -out. We ate 五平餅(Go hei mochi), baked rice with sweet-salty source
