Last weekend was very fun, I took part in the bus tour to Kamakura and Enoshima organised by Engineering Department. Usually trips like this are free..I spent 1000 yen for the entire trip :P
There are two buses and there were around 70++ international students.

Kamakura is a quiet little town with its many temples was the capital of Japan during the Kamakura shogunate, from 1185 to 1333. It is famous tourist spot especially during cherry blossom seasons, the view is splendid.
It is the largest Shinto shrine in town, and one of the most important in the Kanto area.
As all Shinto shrine, its entrance is marked by a torii gate, and a sanctuary of trees encircle the main building. When you come to any Shinto shrine, the praying way is "two bows, two claps, one bow".
Some Japanese will wear kimono when they go to ginja(神社) or otera (お寺)

Home of the famous Great Buddha (大仏 Daibutsu).bronze statue of Amida that at 13.35 meters is the second largest in Japan (second only to that in Nara's Todaiji). Thought to be cast in 1252, the statue was originally housed in a giant temple hall, but the building was washed away in a tidal wave.
There are many stalls selling omiyage (お土産) along the street before we heading to the Benten Shrine, I bought one Senpei cookies which they make on spot. Many flavours available and you should try the "spicy" one.
